Recommended. Nissan's new look started with the Primera. It's the funkiest saloon around and there's a wide range of models as well as high equipment levels.

Nissan has gone all out to be different with the latest Primera. Which other car has a TV camera at the back to help you park more easily? Gimmicks aside, this is a fine family car with lots of clever touches. Inside, there's plenty of space for five passengers and a well designed dashboard. It's fun to drive, too, with sharp handling and a good turn of speed, especially from the 2.0 petrol models. Unlike the smaller Almera, this Nissan is nice to look at, although the estate version is less attractive.
Points positifs
- Top value used car choice for families
- Spacious, safe, reliable and well built
- Even the cheapest S versions are well equipped
|
Points negatifs
- Styling lacks lightness of touch
- Ride could be more refined around town
- Typically heavy fleet sector depreciation from new
